The remake of JACOB'S LADDER continues to chug along, and this time it's stopped at the station to pick up Karla Souza. She will be taking on the role of Annie/Angel, "a trauma nurse who works with Jacob’s medical crew in Afghanistan." Is it just me or is that name a little on the nose?
The Latina actress is best known for her appearance on How to Get Away with Murder, which returns for a third season this Fall. I'm not familiar with the show, so I have no experience with Souza, but there could definitely be worse additions to this kind of pointless remake.
The original JACOB'S LADDER had the following synopsis:
After returning home from the Vietnam War, veteran Jacob Singer (Tim Robbins) struggles to maintain his sanity. Plagued by hallucinations and flashbacks, Singer rapidly falls apart as the world and people around him morph and twist into disturbing images. His girlfriend, Jezzie (Elizabeth Peña), and ex-wife, Sarah (Patricia Kalember), try to help, but to little avail. Even Singer's chiropractor friend, Louis (Danny Aiello), fails to reach him as he descends into madness.
This new take, scripted by Jeff Buhler and Sarah Thorp, is said to be:
a modern day paranoid action thriller about two brothers.
Already cast are Michael Ealy, Jesse Williams, Guy Burnet, and Sleepy Hollow's Nicole Beharie.
