The Irishman star Joe Pesci’s next project is not what you were expecting

Joe Pesci is one of the most treasured actors of the last forty years. The Oscar winner (GOODFELLAS) burst onto the scene with 1980's RAGING BULL and continued with hits like LETHAL WEAPON 2, JFK, and MY COUSIN VINNY. Sadly, for film fans the actor went into semi-retirement almost a decade ago, with his last feature being 2010's LOVE RANCH. Thankfully, director extraordinaire Martin Scorsese was able to lure Pesci out of retirement for the Netflix film THE IRISHMAN, marking the first time Pesci and Scorsese have collaborated in almost a quarter century.

Fans of the tough guy actor will be pleased to learn that more Joe Pesci entertainment is coming your way this month…just not in the manner you might expect.

Joe Pesci's next project will not be a film but a cover album of cherished classics like "Round Midnight" and "I Remember April." Entitled Still Singing, it will mark the actor's first album in over twenty years. In addition, Still Singing will feature muscians Jimmy Scott and…wait for it…Adam Levine. The Maroon Five frontman will sing not one but TWO songs with Pesci. Adam Levine and Joe Pesci. I did not expect that pairing.

While this may sound strange for the actor who refused to go home and get his shine box to do, it shouldn't be. Pesci actually began his career in music releasing Little Joe Sure Can Sing! in 1968 and is partially responsible for the founding of The Four Seasons. Joe Pesci's last album was 1998's Vincent LaGuardia Gambini Sings Just For You. Yes that's right, Joe Pesci reprised his famous role from MY COUSIN VINNY just to create a muscial album. Crazy.

Still Singing featuring the dulcet tones of Joe Pesci will be available for you to listen at your leisure on November 29. You can catch Pesci in THE IRISHMAN currently in select theaters and streaming on Netflix November 27.
