I really dug the found footage flick THE HOUSES OCTOBER BUILT. The ending was a bit abrupt, but as my buddies and I have since gone on to say, the film was like HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES by way of a documentary crew. Now, if you haven't seen the film, and that elevator pitch didn't just sell you on it, I don't know what to do for you, buddy.
Anyhow, I'm equaling surprised and excited today to learn via Deadline that not only is there a THE HOUSES OCTOBER BUILT 2 (I had no idea) but that the sequel has been picked up for distribution by RLJE Films and is set for a September release in theaters and VOD!
If that wasn't cool enough, the original film's director/co-writer/star Bobby Roe returns behind the camera, as well as the original film's cast including Brandy Schaefer, Zack Andrews, Mikey Roe and Jeff Larson.
And let's not forget we have two official stills from the film to share today as well. You can peep those below along with the sequel's synopsis and the original film's trailer.
Enjoy!
THE HOUSES OCTOBER BUILT 2 synopsis:
Penned by Andrews and Roe, the new pic picks up the five haunted-house enthusiast friends still trying to recover from the trauma of being kidnapped last Halloween by the Blue Skeleton — a group who takes “extreme haunt” to another level. They decide to face their fears in order to move on and go back out on the road to find more haunted houses, but signs of the Blue Skeleton start appearing again.
