Plenty of people have been posting plenty of things (myself included) about THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY (and the HOBBIT adventure as a whole) ever since it was first announced. And I’ve been following as much as I can as often as I can, because this is just about my most anticipated film this side of possible. But in all the time I’ve spent reading and watching various thoughts and observations and comments and curses, one little something seems to have gone rarely mentioned by anybody really: there is still a great deal of footage and plot progression that has yet to be revealed, even for just THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY alone. Case in point: the extended fight scenes and footage of the Trolls that can be seen in the post-production blog below.
But beyond even those things, I should imagine that there’s still much left to be seen. Trailers and photos have skirted around the same segments of footage, revealing different angles and lines and revelations surrounding the familiar beats in the first section of the book. And yet it has been made plenty clear that Peter Jackson and company have woven in all sorts of other characters and journeys and sequences and lines and conflicts in with those that fans of the book are already familiar with. So for those of you who think you know the film, who think you already know everything that’s going to happen? All I have to say this:
It is my suspicion that a great many audience members will be very surprised come December 14th, and I for one can’t wait to hear and discuss and debate all about it.
