Haunting of Hill House S2 will up the hidden ghosts game

Last week, Netflix announced that they have renewed director Mike Flanagan's 10-part masterpiece adaptation of Shirley Jackson's THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE for a second season. Season 2 will be chronicling a new story with all new characters and it's called THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR, which will function as an adaptation of Henry James’ gothic ghost story The Turn of the Screw. But will the Hidden Ghosts of season one return?

Well, over on Twitter, a fellow fan said:

I know that The Haunting of Bly Manor won't be directly connected to The Haunting of Hill House and that makes total sense, but I would really love it if Mike Flanagan snuck in some hidden ghost cameos from Season 1. It would be the best treat for the fans.

No kidding.

But get this, Flanagan responded to the tweet saying:

We are already discussing how to up our hidden ghost game.

Nice! I don't know about you, but the hidden ghosts scattered throughout season one are one of the true joys of repeat viewings of the phenomenal series. It makes for one hell of a game between friends and I myself have a circle that emails each other when someone finds a new specter. How Flanagan plans to up the ante on this come season two I can only imagine, but I'm positive it will be jawdropping… and, obviously, nightmare inducing.

The first season was a modern reimagining of Shirley Jackson's iconic novel, produced with Paramount Television and Amblin Television. In addition to Flanagan and Macy, the show was executive produced by Meredith Averill and Co-Presidents of Amblin Television Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. Flanagan directed every episode of the 10-part first season so it will be interesting to see if he does that again for The Haunting of Bly Manor.

We'll let you know when we hear more! THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR hits Nexflix in 2020.

What the sh*t?!
