A few days ago Jake Dee brought you some news regarding Jim Sheridan’s DREAM HOUSE. So far it’s been due for some reshoots and one of the more significant questions that are being tossed around is if DREAM HOUSE could still make the Feburary 18th, 2011 release date.
I’m here to tell you no, it won’t.
Movieweb writes about one of their particular cast members not making the reshoots which may be detrimental to keeping to the current schedule. This actor? Daniel Craig. Mr. Nuevo James Bond will not be able to make the reshoots due to his commitment with another film. It seems he left DREAM HOUSE with the assumptions that the production had wrapped. That way he was all on board with his next film THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. If you haven’t heard that movie is one hell of a commitment. Daniel Craig won’t be availble for reshoots until December of this year. Meaning DREAM HOUSE will be post poned indefinitely until the reshoots are done. This has sent Morgan Creek Productions, home to Dream House, in search of a new release date for their murder mystery.
Dream House could still be Daniel Craig’s next movie, if they complete it and get it in theaters before July 29th, 2011, the release date of Craig’s highly anticipated sci-fi Western hybrid COWBOYS AND ALIENS (A film I’m very looking forward to seeing).
Here’s the synopsis if you’re not too sure what’s going on:
A father relocates his family into what appears to be the ideal residence in small town Connecticut. However, they are disturbed to discover that their beautiful new home was the site of another family’s slaughter, believed to be at the hands of the husband who survived.
So there you have it folks. We went from DREAM HOUSE having a secure release date to it being pushed around by the commitments of GIRL WITH A DRAGON TATTOO. If you were looking forward to seeing DREAM HOUSE soon then I wouldn’t hold my breath. This might take a while.
Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts (below), Rachel Weisz, Rachel Fox, Gregory Smith, Elias Koteas, Jane Alexander, Sarah Gadon, Chris Owens, Martin Csokas, Claire and Taylor Geare, Mark Wilson, Jonathan Potts and Lynne Griffin comprise an impressive ensemble.
