A new TV spot for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST has hit the net, featuring mostly footage we've already seen with a few new snippets. If nothing else, the new spot serves to once again show the epic scope of the film, which is definitely the largest scale we've seen for an X-film yet. Banding together almost all of the previous cast from Bryan Singer's first two films and the survivor's of Matthew Vaughn's X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, the new film is a step into the time-jumping tales from the comics that continue to this day, which should make for some big-screen fun.
Take a look:
Here's the synopsis:
The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.
It's cool to see the filmmakers stretch out and dive deeper into X-Men lore by mining from some of the older and more popular stories of the comics' long history. "Days of Future Past" has always been a major storyline for the series, as well as "The Dark Phoenix Saga" or "The Age of Apocalypse" (which may serve to inspire Singer's next X-sequel). It feels like the franchise is taking the right steps in expanding the universe and opening the doors to some of the bigger stories, characters, and events from the comics and that's all right by me.
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST hits theaters on May 23, 2014.
