I didn't even realize Josh Lucas was in the cast of The Forever Purge, the upcoming "final chapter" in the Purge franchise, but there he is, featured in several of the new images from the film that have arrived online. This is good news as far as I'm concerned, because I have been a fan of Lucas ever since the days of Wonderland and Ang Lee's Hulk, so I'm glad to see him getting in on the Purge action.
Other cast members featured in the images below include Zahn McClarnon, Ana de la Reguera, Tenoch Huerta, Leven Rambin, Alejandro Edda, and Elijah Hardin. Will Patton and Cassidy Freeman are also in the cast.
Purge franchise creator James DeMonaco, who has written every film in the series and directed the first three, wrote this one as well. Everardo Gout directed the film, which tells the story of
Adela (Ana de la Reguera) and Juan (Tenoch Huerta), who find solace at a Texan ranch, having fled a drug cartel in Mexico. Things go awry when a group of outsiders decide to keep purging beyond the allotted time when people can break any and all laws.
Produced by DeMonaco, Sébastien K. Lemercier, Jason Blum, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form, The Forever Purge is set to reach theatres on July 2nd.
Everardo Gout's previous directing credits include episodes of Banshee, Luke Cage, Mars, The Terror, and Snowpiercer. This is his second feature, following the 2011 Spanish-language crime thriller Days of Grace. Tenoch Huerta was in that movie, too.
