The Fog (1980) John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis – Show Me the Sequel!

Back when the remake boom began, one reason why fans would be upset when remakes were announced is because the assumption was made that a remake would prevent the original story from being continued through sequels. The Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Child's Play franchises have since proven that assumption wrong – which is why we think John Carpenter's 1980 film The Fog (watch it HERE) is still a candidate for sequelization even after the poorly received remake that was released in 2005. In the new episode of our video series Show Me the Sequel, we pitch our idea for how to follow up the story of Carpenter's film more than 40 years later.

The Show Me the Sequel series is about

genre films that either never got sequels and we feel it's long overdue, fine movies that did get sequels but they were so lackluster that going back to square one is a must, or… flicks that DO have sequels but hey, we want freaking MORE of them! On top of that, we put our pitch for what said sequel should be about!

Show Me the Sequel is written and narrated by Pat Q, Edited by Lance Vlcek, Produced by John Fallon, and Berge Garabedian is the Executive Producer.

Written by Carpenter and Debra Hill, The Fog has the following synopsis:

Strange things begin to occurs as a tiny California coastal town prepares to commemorate its centenary. Inanimate objects spring eerily to life; Rev. Malone (Hal Holbrook) stumbles upon a dark secret about the town's founding; radio announcer Stevie (Adrienne Barbeau) witnesses a mystical fire; and hitchhiker Elizabeth (Jamie Lee Curtis) discovers the mutilated corpse of a fisherman. Then a mysterious iridescent fog descends upon the village, and more people start to die.

Holbrook, Barbeau, and Curtis are joined in the cast by Tom Atkins, Janet Leigh, Charles Cyphers, Nancy Loomis, and George "Buck" Flower.
