The Flash is currently in the midst of its seventh season and has already been renewed for an eighth, but Deadline has reported that two long-time cast members will be exiting the series. Tom Cavanagh, who plays Eobard Thawne as well as various incarnations of Harrison Wells, and Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco Roman, will no longer be a part of Team Flash.
"Tom and Carlos have been an integral part of our show for seven seasons, and will be greatly missed," said The Flash executive producer/showrunner Eric Wallace. "Both are incredible talents who created beloved characters that fans and audiences around the world have come to love. Which is why we are happily keeping the door open for return appearances." Tom Cavanagh was originally slated to exit at the end of season six, but thanks to the pandemic shutting down production, the actor's last appearance as a series regular arrived in the third episode of the current season, but he is expected to make some sort of reappearance later in the season. As for Carlos Valdes, he will be bidding the series farewell in the season seven finale, but as Eric Wallace mentioned, it's possible that both actors could return to make guest appearances. The Flash star Grant Gustin is already contracted for season eight of the series, but fellow stars Danielle Panabaker and Candice Patton are still negotiating new deals..
