You hear the voice, you see the cowl, and there’s something under that tarp that has a familiar shape (the O.G Batmobile!)… it’s Michael Keaton’s Batman, who you almost get a good look at in this super short first look at DC’s The Flash! While star Ezra Miller was on hand to apologize for not having a teaser ready, given that the movie is still in production, he did offer us this tantalizing The Flash movie teaser sneak peek whipped up by him and his “maestro” director Andy Muschietti.
In it, a familiar voice questions Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen, asking him why, of the many timelines he can visit, this is the one he wants to fix. The voice, of course, belongs to Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, who steps into the mentor role for The Flash’s long-awaited solo spinoff. In the teaser, who also get a look at a broken Batman cowl that no doubt belongs to Ben Affleck’s Batman who, I believe, is likely killed in the current DCEU timeline, and probably The Flash is trying to undo this by dipping into the Keaton Batman timeline for some help.
As far as teasers go, this one certainly whets our appetite for what, I’ll admit, is my most anticipated superhero movie of 2022. While I like Miller a lot in the lead, it’s the presence of my childhood Batman, Michael Keaton, who’s going to get my butt into a theater seat, and I cannot wait. As a fan of his, I’ve been waiting to see him play the role again since 1992.
Otherwise, The Flash movie looks fantastic, with tons of money shots, including a glimpse at Barry Allen’s new suit, Iris West (Kiersey Clemons), Sasha Calle’s Supergirl, and more. The Flash comes out November 4th, 2022!
