The Flash: Ezra Miller meets with Warner Bros. executives to save the movie

The Flash, Ezra Miller,

After months of scandalous headlines and deeply troubling behaviour, The Flash star Ezra Miller finally agreed to seek professional help and offered an apology. According to a new report by THR, Ezra Miller finally came around after learning that Warner Bros. Film chairs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy were considering scrapping The Flash movie altogether.

Ezra Miller recently met with Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy to “not only how to stay on course for The Flash’s June 23, 2023 release date but to reaffirm their commitment to the movie as well as apologize for bringing negative attention to the production and the company.” The report states that Ezra Miller didn’t necessarily care about the bad press but didn’t want The Flash to be negatively affected any more than it already has. “They care about The Flash,” a source told THR. “It’s one of their favorite characters to play.” It’s not clear what was talked about in the meeting, but it was the first time Miller had spoken with the new heads of the Warner Bros. Film division. Miller was “apologetic” in the meeting and “affirmed their commitment to both getting care and to the production.

The Flash has reportedly been receiving some of the highest scores at test screenings, so Warner Bros. clearly didn’t want to have to scrap it. With Ezra Miller seeking help, I would imagine the studio is hoping that the negative press has come to an end and will be in the rearview by the time the movie is released. Benjamin Wallfisch will be leading the recording of the score for The Flash next week, and visual effects works could be finished by the end of the year. While I could never imagine that Warner Bros. would outright scrap The Flash, I’m less certain whether Ezra Miller will continue to play the character in future. I suppose that will depend on Miller’s behaviour moving forward.

The Flash is currently set to hit theaters on June 23, 2023
