The Flash will premiere at CinemaCon more than six weeks before its theatrical release

Those lucky few attending CinemaCon 2023 will be in for a treat as Variety has reported that Warner Bros will be screening The Flash in its entirety. The convention will take place in Las Vegas and runs from April 24th through to April 27th, which means that the CinemaCon audience will be seeing The Flash more than six weeks before the film’s release in theaters.

DC Studios head James Gunn has claimed that The Flash is “probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made,” so this CinemaCon debut is just another example of how highly the studio thinks of the film. This isn’t the first time that a studio has screened an entire movie at CinemaCon, as Paramount Pictures presented the first full showing of Top Gun: Maverick just last year, with our own Chris Bumbray in attendance. “Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past,” reads the official synopsis of The Flash. “But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?“

In addition to Ezra Miller, the cast of The Flash includes Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Antje Traue, Kiesery Clemons, and Ben Affleck. Nothing has been revealed regarding Ezra Miller’s future in the new DC Universe, but it would appear James Gunn and Peter Safran are waiting to see how The Flash is received. “Ezra is completely committed to their recovery,” DCU Studios co-CEO Peter Safran said. “We’re fully supportive of that journey that they’re on right now. When the time is right, when they feel they are ready to have the discussion, we’ll all figure out what the best way forward is. But right now, they are completely focused on their recovery. And in our conversations with them over the last couple of months, it feels like they’re making enormous progress.“

The Flash will hit theaters on June 16th.
