As the release of THE DARK TOWER is just a few months away, it's a little concerning that we haven't seen a trailer for the film yet, especially as Stephen King fans have been looking forward to this project for quite some time. According to Trailer Track, that wait may soon be over as Deluxe Digital Cinema have reportedly sent THE DARK TOWER trailer out to theaters.
The trailer for THE DARK TOWER will apparently run 2 minutes and 36 seconds and will presumably be attached to GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2, but it could land online anytime this week. However, until we hear, or see, something official regarding the release of the trailer for THE DARK TOWER, take this with a grain of salt. That said, we're certainly well past due when it comes to getting a good look at the Nikolaj Arcel film. Please don't suck.
We'll be keeping our eyes open for THE DARK TOWER trailer, but at this point, I'll believe it when I see it. Sony Pictures did debut a slightly unfinished trailer at CinemaCon in March, where our own Editor-in-Chief Paul Shirey was on-hand to offer up his opinion. Even in its incomplete state, Paul called the trailer "sharp as hell" and "very much in the fantasy realm." If nothing else, Paul said that THE DARK TOWER looks like it will be quite a bit of fun as well as a "terrific badass-in-the-making role for [Idris] Elba, who is long overdue for something like this."
THE DARK TOWER is set for a August 4, 2017 release.
