Although far from a flawless film, I gotta give it to Robert Resnikoff's 1990 THE FIRST POWER which stars Lou Diamond Phillips, Jeff Kober and Tracy Griffith, as it has stayed with me since I first saw it on the big screen in 1990. Over the years I've revisited the film countless times on VHS and DVD. I’m not exactly sure what it is about that film that “hooks me so deep” to be honest. But for sure the twisted subject matter, the crazy stunts, the eerie score by Stewart Copeland, the threatening killer (and his sick mask) and the mix of police thriller & spook fest appeals to me. Being that it just came out on Blu-Ray; I revisited this bad boy yet again for Halloween month and here’s what I got out of it. For sure it’s worth a watch this Hallowen! "See ya around buddy-boy!"
