The first images of Will Smith and Margot Robbie as con artists in Focus

We have the first images from CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE. directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s upcoming “comedy-caper-love story” FOCUS starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie. The R-rated film has had some previous names attached to it at one point or another like Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as well as Ben Affleck and Kristen Stewart. The pairing of Smith and Robbie is intriguing enough let alone the fact that Smith’s this would be Smith’s first R-rated flick since BAD BOYS II in 2003. Something must have drawn him to the project so let’s hope it’s something we all might enjoy.

Here’s the official synopsis for Focus:

Will Smith stars as Nicky, a seasoned master of misdirection who becomes romantically involved with novice con artist Jess (Margot Robbie).  As he’s teaching her the tricks of the trade, she gets too close for comfort and he abruptly breaks it off.  Three years later, the former flame—now an accomplished femme fatale—shows up in Buenos Aires in the middle of the high stakes racecar circuit.  In the midst of Nicky’s latest, very dangerous scheme, she throws his plans for a loop…and the consummate con man off his game.

We will have the first trailer soon, so I think that should help take care of a lot of curiosity. Robbie was fantastic in last year’s WOLF OF WALL STREET many of you would agree, and she’s very easy on the eyes so there’s that. Lastly, I’m just glad Jaden Smith got to stay at home for this one.

FOCUS opens in theaters on February 27, 2015.
