I may not have been a fan of Terrifier 2 (my review is HERE), but I was impressed by the work Lauren LaVera did in the lead role, and by the time the end credits started to roll I was convinced that she is a star on the rise. So I’m glad to see that she has already completed work on another genre movie – one that co-stars the great Bill Moseley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The Devil’s Rejects, etc.)! The movie is called The Fetus, and our friends at Bloody Disgusting have gotten their hands on a batch of first look images that can also be seen at the bottom of this article.
There isn’t a lot of available information on The Fetus at this time, but we do know that it was written and directed by Joe Lam, with Nathan Faudree and Yuke Li credited as story consultants. The story they were consulted about centers on a couple struggling to learn the truth about the origins of their unborn child– a demonic entity that emerges from the body.
LaVera and Moseley are joined in the cast by Rachel Keefe (Poser), Julian Curtis (Are You Afraid of the Dark?), Joe Barbagallo (Ghost Source Zero), Jeremy Rudd (Sons 2 the Grave), Evan Towell (I, Tonya), McKenzie Shea (Law & Order: Organized Crime), Bobby C. King (The Card Counter), Maureen O’Connor (Used and Borrowed Time), Dalton Rimbert (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Santiago Corbin (Video Journals), and Marilyn Spanier (Girl, Interrupted).
The Fetus marks the feature directorial debut of Lam, who has previously directed multiple short films and a healthcare documentary.
The presence of Lauren LaVera and Bill Moseley in the cast is enough to get me interested in The Fetus, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Does The Fetus sound interesting to you? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
