The family shifts into high gear for new Fast & Furious 9 character posters

Ladies and gentlemen, gearheads of all ages, it will soon be time to start your engines for another installment of the Fast & Furious saga, and today we have a series of character posters from the new film that are bound to get your engines purring.

Recently and officially titled F9: THE FAST SAGA, the upcoming chapter of the proper Fast family franchise picks up not long after the events of THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS, which sees TOKYO DRIFT and FAST 5 helmer Justin Lin back behind the wheel. As evidenced by yesterday's teaser trailer, the latest entry of the series finds Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto having settled down in the countryside with his partner in crime, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). After living his life a quarter-mile at a time for nearly two decades worth of fast and furious films, Dom's life has slowed considerably since the birth of his son. However, because the past always has a way of catching up with the family one way or another, Dom and Letty soon learn that something not-so-unexpected is coming … something that will force them to race into action once again.

Ahead of this Friday's trailer reveal, Universal has debuted a gathering of character posters, which include great looks at the film's stars, including John Cena, whose bound to add a bit of beef to the lineup now that Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham are off enjoying the box office winfall from director David Leitch's FAST & FURIOUS PRESENTS: HOBBS & SHAW.

You'll find the new character posters below for the following stars: Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Ludacris, and John Cena.

Summer 2020 is the time for F9, the ninth chapter in The Fast Saga that has endured for almost two decades and has earned more than $5 billion around the world. Directed by Justin Lin, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth chapters of the series when it transformed into a global blockbuster, the film stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Oscar winner Charlize Theron and Oscar winner Helen Mirren. F9 is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel, Jeff Kirschenbaum, Joe Roth, Justin Lin, Clayton Townsend and Samantha Vincent.

Woof. That isn't much to go on, is it? I suppose we'll have to wait for Friday's trailer reveal to find out what the film is truly about. Thankfully, that's only two days away. In the meantime, we might as well crack a Corona and fire up the old Bar-b-que in anticipation of the next Fast family reunion.
