Monday mornings are usually depressing, heading back to the grind after a few days of freedom. But this Monday is different, because right now you’re waking up to the news that America loves hardcore, R-rated, 80s-style, action movies more than they love chick flicks and comic book movies. The fantastically awesome THE EXPENDABLES blew away the competition with the force of a grenade launcher, ranking in a whopping $35M in just 3 days. Not bad considering it had stiff competition, with the Julie Robert’s flick EAT PRAY LOVE and Edgar Wright’s SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD opening on the same day. But the men of the movie-seeing world decided to man-up, dragged their women with them, and made them watch what we consider a real f*cking movie: Sylvester Stallone and a bunch of other manly dudes blowing shit up for an hour and forty five minutes.
