Ladies and gentlemen we have hit the one month mark. In 720 hours fans across the world will once again be reunited with Rey, Finn, Poe, and Kylo Ren when STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER swings its lightsaber into theaters. It also marks the unofficial beginning of the STAR WARS marketing campaign. This usually includes specialty foods, toys, ads on popular soft drinks, toys, promotional free tickets, toys, and of course toys. Additionally, one of the key ingredients in the blue milk recipe for a great film marketing campaign are the TV spots, and sure enough Disney just dropped a new one last night.
Although the spot contains some familiar sequences such as C3PO saying goodbye, there's a ton of new footage as well. Of particular interest to me was Rey stumbling upon the wrecked remains of Darth Vader's mask. (You may recall from THE FORCE AWAKENS that that same mask belongs to Kylo Ren.) There's also a better look at those badass speeders the First Order troops are driving and what appears to be a narrow escape by the Millennium Falcon from Kylo Ren and the First Order.
THE RISE OF SKYWALKER at the absolute minimum promises to be a beautiful looking film. Every tidbit just adds to the mystery. I tell you I'm more hungry for RISE OF SKYWALKER snippets than a rancor on a three week fast. Must resist Reddit spoilers, must resist Reddit spoilers, MUST RESIST REDDIT SPOILERS!
STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, and Oscar Isaac, concludes the nine film Skywalker saga December 20.
