There are a lot more things being changed for the GHOSTBUSTERS reboot than the genders. While it's almost impossible to believe that any re-imagining could possibly be better than the original film, it's a great move for the film to carve its own path.
The newest development is a redesign of the Ecto-2, the two-seater autogyro from The Real Ghostbusters. It has been redesigned as a busted-out motorcycle. It's hard to say that it's preferable to an awesome flying vehicle, but the design itself is nevertheless pretty slick. I'm not sure why it even needs to share the Ecto-2 name, but I guess the same thing could be said about any remake's title. Check out the motorcycle for yourself!
According to Entertainment Weekly, in GHOSTBUSTERS:
Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living. Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth.
Your Ghostbusters are Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. Their loyal secretery is Chris Hemsworth.
The cast will be filled out by Neil Casey, Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, Pat Kiernan, Cecily Strong, and Charles Dance, featuring cameos by the original film's stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts. Plus Ozzy Osbourne. GHOSTBUSTERS will haunt theaters on July 15th.
