If you don’t know who Yam Laranas is, then you probably haven’t seen SIGAW, which is one of those rare films that really gets under my skin. Mr. Laranas, who wrote and directed SIGAW has been well into production on the American remake of his own film, called THE ECHO, produced by Vertigo Entertainment. The remake is about:

An ex-con moves into an old apartment building, where he encounters a domestic problem involving a police officer, his wife, and their daughter. When he tries to intervene, however, a mysterious curse entraps him.

Yam Laranas has been updating his blog with pictures and notes from the set of the film, which is pretty cool to see what he’ll be doing to spice the new version up. Click here to check it out.

The film stars Jesse Bradford, Kevin Durand and Amelia Warner but has no official release date, so lets hope it’ll grace us sometime in 2008!
