The Djinn Blu-ray, DVD release set for January

IFC Midnight gave the critically acclaimed horror film The Djinn (it has an 87% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes) a theatrical, digital rental, and VOD release back in May, and now RLJE Films has announced when they’ll be bringing the film to physical media: their DVD and Blu-ray release is scheduled for January 4, 2022. Copies can be pre-ordered at THIS LINK.

Written and directed by the filmmaking duo of David Charbonier and Justin Powell (The Boy Behind The Door, which was produced by Halloween II director Rick Rosenthal), The Djinn tells the story of

a mute twelve-year-old, Dylan Jacobs, as he discovers a mysterious book of spells inside his new apartment. Grieving the loss of his mother, and feeling isolated from everyone except for his father, Dylan performs a ritual that promises to deliver his heart’s desire: to have a voice. But he soon discovers that every gift has a toll when a sinister djinn arrives to collect his soul. Now trapped in his new home with nowhere to hide, Dylan must find a way to survive until the stroke of midnight or pay the ultimate price.

The film stars Ezra Dewey (Criminal Minds), Rob Brownstein (The Young and the Restless), Tevy Poe (Redwood Massacre: Annihilation), Donald Pitts (The Secrets We Keep), and John Erickson (Sexually Frank).

Carter Armstrong, Ryan Scaringe, and Meghan Weinstein produced The Djinn, with Charbonier and Powell served as executive producers alongside Jilbert Daniel.
