The Devil wants his due in new trailer for Marvel series Helstrom

Marvel has summoned a new trailer for their upcoming Hulu series HELSTROM, which introduces the world to the darker side of comics and several of the demons that dwell within. The footage invites fans into a world plagued by monsters and overrun with nightmares that are waiting to devour each and the souls of each and every sinful human within claw's reach.

Here's the official synopsis:

As the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer, Helstrom follows Daimon (Tom Austen) and Ana Helstrom (Sydney Lemmon), and their complicated dynamic, as they track down the worst of humanity — each with their own attitude and skills.

Helstrom stars Tom Austen as Daimon Helstrom, Sydney Lemmon as Ana Helstrom, Elizabeth Marvel as Victoria Helstrom, Robert Wisdom as Caretaker, Ariana Guerra Gabriella Rosetti, June Carryl as Dr. Louise Hastings, and Alain Uy as Chris Yen, among several others.

Created for television and executive produced by Paul Zbyszewski along with Karim Zreik and Jeph Loeb, Helstrom is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios, part of Disney Television Studios.

Based on what I can glean from the trailer, Helstrom looks to be Marvel's most horror-tinged live-action series to date, unless you count FX's otherworldly and psychedelic Legion, of course. The show is filled with characters that most audience members are likely to be unfamiliar with, which is something that I could see working both for and against the show. Thankfully, this is a Marvel product we're talking about, and in a year when the studio isn't likely to screen any of their upcoming films in theaters, Helstrom could arrive as precisely what the Devil ordered for entertainment-starved Marvel fans.

All 10 episodes of Helstrom will premiere Friday, October 16, only on Hulu!
