Since 2019, Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco Entertainment have been releasing a series of survival horror video games as installments in the The Dark Pictures Anthology. What they’re calling “season 1” of this anthology will be wrapping up with a fourth video game called The Devil in Me, and it has been revealed today that Jessie Buckley – who has the lead role in the upcoming horror film Men and received an Oscar nomination for her role in The Lost Daughter – stars in the game.
TheGamer revealed that players of The Devil in Me will
take control of a group of documentary filmmakers who have received an invitation to visit a replica of the “Murder Castle” built by notorious serial killer H.H. Holmes.
As is expected when a bunch of teens goes to visit a serial killer’s house, not everything is as it seems. The group soon discovers that they’re being watched by a twisted game master out to inflict as much horror as possible in a series of horrific puzzles that would make even Jigsaw wince.
Buckley’s character is named Kate Wilder.
A specific release date for The Devil in Me has not yet been announced. The game will be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The previous games in the The Dark Pictures Anthology were Man of Medan, co-written by Larry Fessenden and starring Shawn Ashmore; Little Hope, starring Will Poulter; and House of Ashes, starring Ashley Tisdale. Supermassive Games already registered the following titles for games that may end up being part of the anthology series: The Craven Man, Directive 8020, Intercession, O Death, and Winterfold.
