Finn Wolfhard not only has one of the greatest names I've ever heard, he's also the star of the very cool Netflix series Stranger Things. In a recent interview, he said that the upcoming second season of the show will have "disturbing" elements and will be darker and more horror-oriented than the first season.
Producer Shawn Levy is now backing up Wolfhard's claims a bit, even going so far as to say the monstrous Demogorgon that caused so much trouble in season one isn't going to seem so impressive after we see what the characters have to go up against in season two.
During an interview with Gold Derby, Levy couldn't say much about season two, but he did say that
Will Byers is very much at the centre of several intersecting challenges and threats in season 2. And I think overall the kind of forces of evil that are inherent in season 2 make that Demogorgon look quaint in retrospect."
In case you don't recall the name, Will Byers was the boy who spent most of season one in the "Upside Down" dimension and was last seen puking up slug-like creatures in our dimension.
A year after Will’s return, everything seems back to normal… but a darkness lurks just beneath the surface, threatening all of Hawkins.
Noah Schnapp will be reprising the role of Will Byers, and he and Wolfhard are joined by a mixture of returning and new cast members: Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Paul Reiser, Dacre Montgomery, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Millie Bobby Brown, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Brett Gelman, and Linnea Berthelsen.
Set around Halloween 1984, Stranger Things season two will debut on Netflix this Halloween.
