It's going to be a little while before the Marvel Television Universe (or whatever the hell we're calling their Netflix set-up these days) comes back around to Matt Murdock and the continuing adventures of Daredevil for a third solo season with the character. However, that doesn't mean we won't see Charlie Cox's lead grow and change and possibly be informed by other events that will transpire in the MTU before then.
With LUKE CAGE up next this September, followed by IRON FIST next year, THE DEFENDERS will be here soon enough, and that's when we'll get more Daredevil. And, according to Cox, that will have widespread ramifications for the rest of the Netflix series that branch out from there. Appearing at Wizard World Chicago, Cox spoke on a panel about what's to come for his character in the near future and how it affects the long-term game plan.
He can’t do all this alone. And that’s to say maybe some teamwork – He’s actually going to relinquish [some responsibility]. So whatever lessons he learns in The Defenders will then play into I think season three.
Yep, that's right out of the Marvel playbook, making every series a must-watch in order to get the full experience, because everything connects. That's why they call it a shared universe, and this careful attention to detail is why Marvel is king at it.
