Movie theaters are not the only place Marvel is bringing their roster of bad-guy-busting super pals, having been working hard to bring The Defenders to the small screen for a few years. This August will see the teaming-up of Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) on Netflix, and man do they look stylish as hell on their brand new poster – one that doesn’t even need color.
Take a look!
The big baddies of the show will be played by the legendary Sigourney Weaver as Alexandra, but the show will also feature plenty of familiar faces from the heroes’ solo shows, including Elodie Yung (Elektra), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Scott Glenn (Stick ), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse), Simone Missick (Misty Knight) and Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing).
Any images that assembles this crew is too cool to handle, but this one takes it all to a whole new level. It's like they had Annie Leibovitz do the poster for the show. Simple, loaded with attitude, and proves all you need to sell this show is the team itself. No explosions in the back or any other frills, just these badass folks looking…badass. Good thing no huge movies come out on the shows release date, because on that day people will be ordering pizza and trading out pants for whatever blanket is draped over the couch.
THE DEFENDERS assemble August 18.
