Christopher Nolan is the ultimate tease. We have been surviving on scraps of information regarding THE DARK KNIGHT RISES for months now. It has reached the point that it is considered movie news when a small thumbnail image of the media material for the movie tie-in toys is a headline. The question that remains, however, is whether the movie is going to be as good as we all hope it will be?
THE DARK KNIGHT had its own fair share of haters, but reports from a screening held for Warner Bros. execs apparently ended with a standing ovation. MTV erroneously reported that the film was four hours long (which they have since retracted), but I am sure it likely clocks somewhere between two and a half to three hours. This is the final chapter after all.
Rumors have also begun circulating that THE DARK KNIGHT RISES will be screening at San Diego Comic Con, which takes place one week before the film opens in theaters. That would certainly be a fitting tribute to comic fans who have shown Nolan nothing but the highest praise and support through his career.
The most recently revealed plot of the film comes from a film cell that reads “When Commissioner Gordon stumbles upon a plot to destroy the city from within, Bruce Wayne gets back into action as the Batman. Waiting for him is the mysterious Selina Kyle and Bane, a lethal adversary on a crusade to tear apart Batman’s legacy piece by piece.”
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES open July 20th, 2012.
