It's easy to look at some of Hollywood's more ridiculous ideas and turn your nose up at them, after all, a feature-film centered around LEGO? That's just silly. Although the majority of us have played with LEGO at one point or another, I wasn't overly optimistic about THE LEGO MOVIE's chances, so you can imagine my surprise when THE LEGO MOVIE not only wound up being a huge amount of fun, but also successfully recaptured those feelings of creating insane worlds on my bedroom floor. Its success sparked the development of a variety of sequels and spinoffs, the first of which will be THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE with Will Arnett reprising the title role. At this time I've got no way of knowing whether THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE will be just as good as the original, but it's certainly earned my attention.
With just two months to go until its release, a series of six character posters for THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE have been released which feature Batman (Will Arnett), Robin (Michael Cera), Batgirl (Rosario Dawson), Joker (Zach Galifianakis), Harley Quinn (Jenny Slate) and Alfred Pennyworth (Ralph Fiennes). Check 'em out!
The official synopsis for THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE:
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE is set for a February 10, 2017 release.
