Two years ago, we heard that production was about to wrap on an action horror film called Wolf Mountain, directed by David Lipper and starring Danny Trejo (Machete) and Tobin Bell (Saw). Wolf Mountain has since had its title elongated – it’s now known as The Curse of Wolf Mountain – and Deadline reports that Uncork’d Entertainment is planning to give the film digital and DVD release in the United States this May. A specific release date has not been revealed.
Written by and starring Keli Price (Sleep No More), The Curse of Wolf Mountain centers on AJ (Price), who begins having vivid dreams of his parents’ death. He decides to go back to the spot where they were killed, 20 years ago, accompanied by his brother and his brother’s family. But legend has it there is something mysterious roaming these woods.
This is the second deal Lipper has landed with Uncork’d Entertainment in a short period of time, as he recently wrote and produced (through his company Latigo Films) the thriller Hunt Club, which Uncork’d also picked up for distribution. We shared the news of that distribution deal just ten days ago.
Uncork’d Entertainment President Keith Leopard shared the following statement: “It’s great to be back in business again with producer, actor and filmmaker David Lipper following the successful release of Hunt Club. While very different from the latter, The Curse of Wolf Mountain is no less as thrilling and star-studded.“
Lipper has an acting role in The Curse of Wolf Mountain alongside Price, Trejo, and Bell. Also in the cast are Karissa Lee Staples (Walker), Fernanda Romero (The Mortuary Collection), Eddie McClintock (Warehouse 13), Matt Rife (Wild ‘N Out), and singer Malu Trevejo.
Price and Lipper produced The Curse of Wolf Mountain with Kipp Tribble, Joshua Santana, and Kenny Yates. David Briner serves as executive producer.
How does The Curse of Wolf Mountain sound to you? Will you be watching this movie when it’s released in May? The fact that it’s an action horror movie about something mysterious roaming in the woods and it has Danny Trejo in the cast is enough to get me to check it out when it’s available.
