Netflix has unveiled a batch of first look images from their upcoming horror comedy The Curse of Bridge Hollow, which stars Priah Ferguson of Stranger Things and will be released through the streaming service on October 14th. You can take a look at the images at the bottom of this article.
Directed by Jeff Wadlow (Fantasy Island 2020) from a screenplay Todd Berger and John R. Morey, The Curse of Bridge Hollow has the following synopsis:
A teenage girl, who accidentally releases an ancient and mischievous spirit on Halloween which causes decorations to come alive and wreak havoc, must team up with the last person she’d want to in order to save their town – her father.
Ferguson plays the teenage girl from the synopsis, with Marlon Wayans (Scary Movie) taking on the role of her father. Also in the cast are Kelly Rowland (Freddy vs. Jason), Rob Riggle (21 Jump Street), John Michael Higgins (A Mighty Wind), Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Lauren Lapkus (Orange Is the New Black), Holly J. Barrett (Life in Pieces), Myles Perez (Lip Sync Battle), Abi Monterey (Doom Patrol), and Helen Slayton-Hughes (Parks and Recreation). The film’s IMDb page lists Wayans’ Scary Movie co-star Dave Sheridan as a cast member as well.
The mixture of comedy and horror in The Curse of Bridge Hollow is clearly going to be aimed at younger viewers, and I’m always glad to see kid-friendly horror movies getting made. Projects like this are good “gateway” movies to help youngsters start to get into watching genre films. And with this cast, The Curse of Bridge Hollow might be a fun one for all ages to watch.
