The Crow remake targeting a 2015 production start

It seems that we've been hearing about the remake of THE CROW forever, but now it seems that there is an end in sight on the long and twisted road to get the film going with producer Ed Pressman revealing that production could begin as early as Spring of 2015.

The Hollywood Reporter is sharing word out of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival that Pressman, who was also behind the 1994 original film that starred Brandon Lee, said that he hoped production on the reboot of the cult horror would begin “in the spring" and went on to describe the remake as “the anti-Spider-Man.”

Pressman is excited about THE CROW remake as it will introduce the character to a new generation of film goers. Says Pressman:

“It (the original film) still has a big fan base even though it was so long ago. But the generation today doesn’t even know The Crow.”

A string of actors have been linked to play the iconic role made famous by the late Brandon Lee — who died in the making of the first film — with DRACULA UNTOLD’s Luke Evans the current favorite. And while Evans has been vocal about his rumored participation over the past year or so, Pressman said that nothing regarding casting was confirmed at this stage.

With Pressman pushing for a Spring 2015 start of production on THE CROW we should start hearing confirmation on casting soon enough. Like it or not, it looks like we're getting that THE CROW remake so we can just hold on to hope that it's done right. More on THE CROW as we hear it.

I still think Luke Evans would be a badass Crow.
