The Continental teaser trailer: John Wick prequel series gets September premiere

The Peacock streaming service has unveiled a teaser trailer for their John Wick prequel series The Continental

John Wick: Chapter 4 (read our review HERE) is currently in theatres, raking in the cash at the global box office while Keanu Reeves continues to rack up a body count on screens around the world. As of right now, the film has earned over $270 million… and while we wait to hear if or when that’s going to lead to another John Wick movie being made, a teaser trailer for the prequel series The Continental has arrived online. You can check it out in the embed above.

A three-part event series, The Continental will be making its premiere on the Peacock streaming service in September. Outside of the United States, the Middle East, and Israel, the show will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

This series centers on the character of Winston Scott, played by Ian McShane in the films. Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant) takes on the role of a younger Winston, and throughout the series, viewers will follow Winston through the underworld of ’70s New York, where he will battle demons from his past as he attempts to seize control of the iconic hotel – a hotel that serves as a meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.

Woodell’s Winston is joined in the cast by Mel Gibson (Lethal Weapon) as Cormac; newcomer Ayomide Adegun as a young Charon, the character Lance Reddick played in the films; Ben Robson (Animal Kingdom) as Frankie; Hubert Point-Du Jour (The Good Lord Bird) as Miles; Jessica Allain (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) as Lou; Mishel Prada (Riverdale) as KD; Nhung Kate (The Housemaid) as Yen; Katie McGrath (Jurassic World) as The Adjudicator; Sallay Garnett (Conversations with Friends) as The Concierge; Ray McKinnon (Deadwood) as Jenkins; and Peter Greene (Pulp Fiction) as Uncle Charlie, based on the body disposal expert from the films.

Judging by the teaser trailer, The Continental looks to me like it’s going to be a blast. I will definitely be watching this show when it premieres later this year.
