It's a good thing that James Wan took a break after helming box office giant FURIOUS 7, returning to horror before continuing his upward leap toward DC's AQUAMAN. THE CONJURING 2 looks like a gorgeous, lush film chock-full of Wan's typically sharp jump scares. This is all very beneficial, because quite frankly the new poster for the film is deeply unimpressive.
The greenish design is woefully generic, looking more like a direct-to-Redbox movie called something like THE GHOSTING OF MOLLY BROWN than a sequel to a major horror hit. But you can decide your opinions for yourself by checking out the art below!
Written by Wan, Chad and Carey Hayes, and David Leslie Johnson, that story is based on
another real case from the files of renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren.. Reprising their roles, Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson star as Lorraine and Ed Warren, who, in one of their most terrifying paranormal investigations, travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by malicious spirits.
Joining Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are Frances O’Connor, Madison Wolfe, Simon McBurney, Franka Potente, Lauren Esposito, Patrick McAuley, Benjamin Haigh, Maria Doyle Kennedy, and Simon Delaney.
The film will haunt theaters on June 10th, a primo summer slot.
