THE BYE BYE MAN, the new supernatural horror film from HOOD OF HORROR director Stacy Title, just dropped its final trailer ahead of its release in the new year (that is, unless it gets cruelly yanked from the schedule again). Although it looks derivative as all hell, the properties it's pulling from are definitely exciting and relatively fresh. The trailer opens with a set of images that seem pulled straight from the creepypasta Slenderman mythology, then slams directly into pulls from classic horror films, including what looks like a scene directly from Lucio Fulci's THE BEYOND, of all things. Check it out below!
In THE BYE BYE MAN:
When three college friends stumble upon the horrific origins of the Bye Bye Man, they discover that there is only one way to avoid his curse: don’t think it, don’t say it. But once the Bye Bye Man gets inside your head, he takes control. Is there a way to survive his possession?
The three college students will be played by Douglas Smith (STAGE FRIGHT), Cressida Bonas, and Lucien Laviscount (Scream Queens).
The film also stars Carrie-Anne Moss (THE MATRIX), Faye Dunaway (BONNIE AND CLYDE, CHINATOWN), Michael Trucco (HUSH), and Doug Jones (PAN'S LABYRINTH) as the titular entity. You can say hello to THE BYE BYE MAN in theaters on January 13, 2017.
