Who doesn't love Bryan Cranston? The man who was Walter White has developed quite the resume over the years but has yet to return to television since the conclusion of Breaking Bad. Still, after inspiration struck upon his mention of the "sneaky petes" of the world during his Emmy award win a few years ago, House creator David Shore teamed with the actor to create the series Sneaky Pete.
After starting at CBS, Sneaky Pete has now become an Amazon Prime pilot contender and the newly released trailer for the first episode definitely gives some good reasons why it should get a full season order.
Sneaky Pete revolves around a con-man (Giovanni Ribisi) who, after leaving prison, takes cover from his past by assuming the identity of his cellmate, Pete. He moves in with Pete’s unsuspecting family and is roped into the family’s bail bond business. In order to keep the charade up, he plays the part of a skip tracer, taking down criminals worse than himself—and discovering a family life he’s never had.
Featuring Emmy winner Margo Martindale, Marin Ireland, and Cranston himself in a supporting role, Sneaky Pete looks like the series CBS is going to be sorry they passed on. But, Amazon Prime does offer a much more open platform that is not restricted by the same codes as a network series would be.
Since there is no guarantee that Sneaky Pete will go to series, those interested in checking out the pilot should head on over to Amazon.com and sign up for a Prime account. The pilot of Sneaky Pete will begin streaming August 7th and will be available for thirty days.
