The Boy 2 gets international distribution, adds child actor Convery

Last month, STX Entertainment and Lakeshore Entertainment announced that they will be teaming up to produce a sequel to William Brent Bell's 2016 film THE BOY, which starred Lauren Cohan as a woman from America who was hired by a couple in the UK to babysit a porcelain doll called Brahms and given a list of rules to follow, like never leave the doll alone, never cover its face, read it a bedtime story, etc. Things got weird from there.

Soon after the announcement, THE BOY 2 was presented to potential distributors at the American Film Market and ended up landing distribution from multiple companies around the world. STX Entertainment will be handling distribution in the United States, while other distributors will include Entertainment (UK & Ireland), Sun (Spain & LatAm), Lucky Red (Italy), The Searchers (Benelux), Koch (Germany & Austria), MGN (CIS), Vertical (Eastern Europe), JBG (Australia & New Zealand), Odeon (Greece & Cyprus), Cinemundo (Portugal), Selmer (Scandinavia), Ascot (Switzerland), United King (Israel), Jaguar (Middle East), Aqua (Turkey), Elevation (Canada), Acme (Baltics), Intercontinental (Hong Kong & Macao), PT Prima (Indonesia), Company L (Korea), GSC (Malaysia), Viva (Philippines), CatchPlay (Taiwan), MVP (Vietnam, Thailand & Burma), HBO (Pan Asia Satellite), Times Media (South Africa), Caribbean Cinemas (West Indies), and TSI (Airlines). 

As with the first movie, Bell will be directing THE BOY 2 from a screenplay by Stacey Menear. This time the story will follow 

a young family that moves into the Heelshire Mansion unaware of the terrifying history of the estate. Once there, their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms.

Katie Holmes will be playing a character named Liza, and now 10-year-old actor Christopher Convery has signed on to play Liza's son Jude.

Holmes and Convery both have a history with Batman. She appeared in BATMAN BEGINS, and he played the role of Martin on five episodes of the television series Gotham. The image above shows Martin hanging out with a pig-faced pal… I don't know what's going on there, but it's creepy. Convery can also currently be seen on the big screen in THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB.
