The Book of Boba Fett: Temuera Morrison isn’t optimistic about season 2

Two years after The Book of Boba Fett debuted, Temuera Morrison isn’t optimistic about the chances of season 2.

The Book of Boba Fett, season 2

After making his triumphant return in The Mandalorian, Temuera Morrison was finally given center stage with The Book of Boba Fett. The seven-episode series revealed how Boba Fett had survived his supposed death in the Sarlaac pit in Return of the Jedi and his quest to take over Jabba the Hutt’s criminal empire. The Book of Boba Fett received mixed reviews, but fans have still been wondering if and when they might see season 2 of the series.

Well, Temuera Morrison spoke with NewsHub over the holidays and didn’t seem optimistic about the chances of a second season. “I don’t know what’s going on there,” Morrison said. “We’re coming out of this downtime period so I think everyone is just settling back in and it all goes back to budgets and what they want to do and how much the thing costs. I really don’t know. Judging by the fans I’ve met, they all want a season two, but I don’t know what’s going to happen.

Morrison revealed earlier this year that he was led to believe that Boba Fett would make an appearance in the third season of The Mandalorian, but he never got the call. “I was supposed to be in The Mandalorian season 3 but nobody rang me,” Morrison said. “I was waiting for the phone call in New Zealand, waiting and wanting to give up.” The actor also hasn’t been shy about criticizing his own spin-off, which found an entire episode taken over by Din Djarin. “Well that Mando guy stole a few chapters of my book,” Morrison added. “It was painful watching him turn up with some black new lethal sword. And the way he turned up in my Book of Boba, he just destroyed everybody. I’m sure this guy is… ah… ruining my show. But I couldn’t say anything. I’m not the writer, so I have to bear it I guess.

Although The Book of Boba Fett didn’t quite live up to expectations, I would still like to see more. Even if a second season doesn’t happen, I would be shocked if Fett didn’t turn up again; perhaps in Dave Filoni’s upcoming Mando-verse movie?

Would you like to see The Book of Boba Fett season 2 or was one enough?
