Who’s hungry for family-style dining? FX is bringing a teaser for The Bear Season 2 to the table, and fans are hungry for the emotionally-charged drama’s anticipated return. In The Bear Season 2 teaser, the staff members of the greasy spoon, formally known as The Beef, start renovations on the restaurant. As Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Richie Jerimovich gazes out a newspaper storefront, valued family members and kitchen staff pack their belongings, demolish walls, and give customers a heads up about the restaurant’s future and name change. At the end of the teaser, a sign in the window reveals The Bear returns to FX in June.
During the season one finale of The Bear, Carmen ‘Carmy’ Berzatto discovers a stash of money. The cash is a gift from his late brother, Michael (Jon Bernthal). Presumably, there’s enough scratch to bring the restaurant out of debt and reinvent the space in Carmy’s intended vision for the struggling locale. Is money enough to answer all their prayers, or will it bring more issues? You know what they say, mo money mo problems.
The Bear season one features Jeremy Allen White (Shameless, The Iron Claw), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls, The Punisher), Ayo Edibiri (What We Do in the Shadows, Thunderbolts), Lionel Boyce (Loiter Squad, The Jellies), Liza Colón-Zayas (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, David Makes Man), Edwin Lee Gibson (Fargo, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty), Corey Hendrix (Chicago P.D., Let Us Make Eve), Richard Esteras (Death Wish, When Jeff Tried to Save the World), Abby Elliott (Fun Size, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Jose M. Cervantes (Chicago Med, Shining Girls), and Matty Matheson (Doug Out, Workin’ Mom).
The Bear Season 2 teaser is only a taste of the drama to come. For my money, The Bear is one of the best television shows of recent years. When I have to describe it to people, I tell them to imagine the intensity of Benny Safdie and Josh Safdie’s Uncut Gems but in a chaotic kitchen. The Bear looks hard at grief, addiction, togetherness, and the desire to be better people. Every actor in the show shines, and I’ll be damned if The Bear doesn’t make me hungry for authentic Chicago-style dining.
