Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 gets a new official title

Avengers: Infinity War

When the next outing of The Avengers was initially announced as a two-part film, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – PART I and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – PART II, it was assumed that this meant one big story spread over two features, but since then Marvel has been backing away from that assumption. Back in May, CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR directors Joe and Anthony Russo said to expect those titles to change, and, they have.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – PART 1 will now simply be known as AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, which leaves PART II with the placeholder title of UNTITLED AVENGERS for the time being. Has a nice ring to it. Anthony and Joe Russo had called the previous titles "misleading" as these are going to be "two very different movies." Production is expected to kick off in November with both films shot concurrently as it makes the most financial and logistic sense given the immense cast which will be involved in both movies. THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR is still set for a May 4, 2018 release with UNTITLED AVENGERS following on May 3, 2019.

Any ideas on the title for UNTITLED AVENGERS?
