The apocalypse is a teenage wonderland in trailer for Netflix’s Daybreak

Sure, the end of the world typically isn't seen as a good thing, but for a teenager, getting to run amok doing whatever the hell you want might not be a bad idea; hell, I'm a fan as well. Netflix's upcoming dystopian dramedy series Daybreak takes place in a world in which a nuclear blast has transformed adults into brain-dead, bloodthirsty savages and finds the young survivors splitting into MAD MAX-style factions. Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming series, based upon the comic by Brian Ralph, which you can check out above!

Colin Ford stars as Josh Wheeler, the new kid from Canada who sets out in search of his missing girlfriend Sam (Sophie Simnett), but in order to do so, he'll have to travel across Glendale and the various turfs of the post-apocalyptic gangs. "[The show has] this optimistic view of the end of the world," showrunner Aron Eli Coleite told Entertainment Weekly. "It immediately transported me back to high school and feeling like, ‘Man, I would love it if the world ended right now because I could totally reinvent myself. I could be anybody else.’ And I think that that’s a really common thing that a lot of us felt in high school." Thankfully, Josh isn't alone, as the 10-year-old pyromaniac Angelica (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and the pacifist Wesley Fists (Austin Crute), a reformed jock who’s now styled himself as a peace-loving, nonviolent samurai, come along for the ride.

Daybreak is set to debut on Netflix on October 24th.
