The Addams Family 2 coming Halloween 2021

Conrad Vernon & Greg Tiernan's new animated take on THE ADDAMS FAMILY by Charles Addams hits theaters this past weekend. And already today we have word that MGM is already planning a sequel with an October 2021 release date. The $40M flick just opened in 2nd place at the box-office to the tune of $35M in 4-days, so this news makes a bit of sense.

This animated action-comedy follows:

The Addams family whose lives begin to unravel when they face-off against a crafty reality-TV host while also preparing for their extended family to arrive for a major celebration, Addams-style. Morticia, devilishly devoted to her husband and children, is the pale glue that holds her clan together. Gomez, debonair, sinister and passionately in love with his wife, is enthusiastic about whatever dreadful scheme he’s cooked up. Wednesday is a brilliant and sinister teenage girl with long braids and deadpan wit. Pugsley, a menacing 10-year-old on over-drive, enjoys getting into any kind of dreadful mischief he can find. Mad Uncle Fester is good-natured, merry and likes to create mayhem any way he can. Grandmama is smitten with her grandchildren who enjoy her cookies shaped like bats and skulls. Margaux Needler, the reality TV makeover queen, is consumed with a desire for absolute suburban, pastel perfection.

Oscar Isaac as Gomez Addams, Morticia’s husband, Charlize Theron as Morticia Addams, Gomez’s wife, Chloë Grace Moretz as Wednesday Addams, Gomez and Morticia’s daughter, Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley Addams, Gomez and Morticia’s son, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Bette Midler will voice Grandmama, Allison Janney as Margaux Needler, a reality-TV host, Elsie Fisher as Parker Needler, Margaux’s daughter, and Aimee Garcia as Denise.

This new version is directed by Conrad Vernon & Greg Tiernan from a script by Matt Lieberman, Jodi Picoult, and Sue Costello based on The Addams Family by Charles Addams. Vernon, Gail Berman, and Alex Schwartz produced.  It's executive produced by Andrew Mittman, Kevin Miserocchi, and Joe Earley. The film is now playing in a theater near you. MGM already plans for the sequel to hit on October 22, 2021.
