All of the winners from the 2022 Academy Awards

The 2022 Academy Awards are in the books, folks, and overall the biggest surprises were things that had nothing to do with the actual awards, such as Will Smith smacking the sh*t out of Chris Rock for comparing his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s hair-loss to G.I. Jane. Ouch. You can read more about it here. Otherwise, it was a relatively uneventful show, with CODA winning for best picture, while Jane Campion took home the nod for best director on Power of the Dog.

The divisive “Fan Favorite” awards will no doubt get people talking, as Zack Snyder-stans went a little crazy, with The Flash’s entrance in Zack Snyder’s Justice League winning the “Fan Favorite Most Cheer-Worthy Moment”, while Army of the Dead won “Fan Favorite Movie” (along with… Cinderella and Minamata, which didn’t even get a 2021 release – so was it even eligible?). Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall and Amy Schumer did fine as hosts (minus the Last Duel diss that went down like a lead balloon) but seemed absent for much of the show. Overall, this will undoubtedly be known as the year Will Smith smacked Chris Rock and possibly did real damage to his career. Only time will tell.
