“After I kill you, I’m going to burn this annoying little planet to cinders.”
Over the course of all the AVENGERS: ENDGAME promotion we’ve seen precious little of the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin), who is most likely farming, I don’t know, space turnips on his country estate post-INFINITY WAR. While the Avengers are going at him with everything they have he’s still got some fight in him as well, and in the new TV spots we get some new glimpses at what he has in store for the heroes when they bring the battle to him.

Across two TV spots, we see the same new look at Thanos, which is of him in his battle armor with his new giant blade, pointing it at who we can assume are the superheroes on the other side. As you can also tell, he’s got what looks like an army behind him, with soldiers, ships and those big worm things in the background. Add this up with the other footage we’ve seen of his return and we got about 3 seconds worth of video of him in ENDGAME, which is great because now anything he has in store will be a huge surprise come the movie's release.

INFINITY WAR featured every character in the MCU, give or take, but the main character of the story was certainly Thanos. We saw more of him than any other single hero, and his journey to find the Infinity Stones, though very much a bad guy storyline, was what we were following. We last saw him on The Farm at the end of the last movie, and while the Avengers have one goal in mind it will be interesting to see what Thanos is doing other than deciding to wipe out the other half of the team the Snap didn’t get.
I for one am thrilled we’ve seen so little of Thanos this time around in the promotion. There was a ton of focus on him last time, so I love not knowing quite what he’s up to now. Of course, we know he will take on the Avengers in a battle to the death, but across three hours-worth of movie he must have more to do than just sitting around and bask in the sunlight. I guess we will know more when the movie comes out THIS WEEK. Prepare yourselves, everyone; we’re in the endgame now.
AVENGERS: ENDGAME is in theaters April 26.
