Tformers tests great!

I’m not going to lie – I’m a geek. I’m a huge f*cking Transformers geek. So the Michael Bay film that is coming out this Fourth of July is easily the most exciting thing for me this summer. So it was great news for me (and hopefully geeks across the great land) when I read that TRANFORMERS was shown to test audiences and has scored off the charts.

The test screenings even have producer Tom DeSanto raving about the film: “[It tested] higher than any other of Michael [Bay]’s movies,” said DeSanto. “It’s good, everybody’s excited. It’s a great time right now because in a summer of sequels, we’re going to be bringing something new to the table.” DeSanto went on to talk about the film as a collective work: “It’s one ending. It’s one story. It’s a beginning, middle and end. The ending works. It’s great too because yeah, there’s going to be giant robots but there’s romance in there and Shia has a real emotional storyline that at the end, you’re really rooting for him.”

In other news about the film, the amount of set pieces was confirmed by DeSanto, as his figure of 20 set pieces matches the what star Shia Labeouf had previously mentioned on the subject. “I would say he’s probably right on target. You know when you go to Six Flags and there’s the new roller coaster that outdoes every other roller coaster? That’s going to be ‘Transformers.’ We’re doing things, and the fun this is it hasn’t been done before. It’s all new stuff.”

And lastly, the film isn’t going to be a three hour marathon, it’s going to be a balls-to-the-wall two hours of cinematic joy. I can’t wait.
