Texas Chainsaw Massacre game promo shows Leatherface and family waiting for a victim

The events of Tobe Hooper’s classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (watch it HERE) took place on August 18, 1973, so it’s very appropriate that the folks at Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham, who are hard at work on developing a Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game, chose to share a video preview of the game today. In this video, featured in the Twitter embed at the bottom of this article, we see a victim character jumping through a farmhouse window just like Sally Hardesty did in Hooper’s movie… but this character isn’t so lucky. Her attackers aren’t in the house behind her. They’re waiting for her outside. And they’re the iconic characters from Hooper’s movie; Leatherface, the Cook, and the Hitch-hiker.

The video ends with a reminder that matches of this Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game will pit four potential victims against three killers. You can read about the victim characters HERE. In addition to the killers from the movie, the game will also feature killer characters that have been invented specifically for this game. Matches will take place in maps that are incredible recreations of locations from the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, as you can see in this video.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game is set before the events of the original film and has the following set-up:

When Maria Flores went missing, and local law enforcement seemed to stall out in their search, her younger sister Ana teamed up with some of Maria’s friends from college to pick up the trail. It’s time for you to meet our cast of Victims.

The cast that has been assembled to bring the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game’s characters to life includes genre icon Kane Hodder, who is doing the motion-capture performance for Leatherface; Edwin Neal, providing the voice of the Hitch-hiker, the character he played in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre; and Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Kristina Klebe (Don’t Kill It), Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs), and Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey at Night) in unspecified roles.
