Although we're still several months away from our first Star Wars spin-off, ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, pre-production and casting on the next is already well underway. The UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM stars Alden Ehrenreich in the title role and will chronicle the adventures of the young smuggler before he joined up with the Rebellion. Aside from Ehreneich, there hasn't been a lot of talk about who else will be joining him in the latest Star Wars movie, but it looks as though they're finally narrowing down on a female lead.
Per Variety, Lucasfilm/Disney have been testing actresses in London this past week who include Tessa Thompson (CREED), Zoe Kravitz (MAD MAX: FURY ROAD) and Naomi Scott (POWER RANGERS). This is actually the second round of tests for the "mystery female character" and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are said to be taking their time with making a final selection, so it could be several weeks yet before we hear anything. It's not known who this new character will be, but some have suggested that she may be Sana Starros, a fellow smuggler who claimed to have been married to Han Solo and was introduced in Marvel's Star Wars comic series last year.
As for other characters appearing in the UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM, we already know that both Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian will make appearances and Variety reports that Donald Glover, who was rumoured to be up for the role of Lando earlier this year, is still high on the list. The UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM is set for a May 25, 2018 release.
