Terry Gilliam’s name is not foreign to us here at AITH. With 12 MONKEYS behind his back it’s hard not to keep up a reputation like that. While he hasn’t done extensive work in the field of horror, he will be making his first short film ever…more specifically his first horror short film ever. Come over to the dark side, Gilliam!
The horror short film, that will also tap into comedic waters, is titled THE LEGEND OF HALLOWDEGA. Gilliam will premiere his short on October 31st. The short film is a collective effort with help from stars such as David Arquette, Justin Kirk and a special appearance by Dale Earnhardt Jr.,Darrel Waltrip. Read the press release below to get some more deets!
The film, produced by AMP Energy Juice and @radical.media, will premiere on Halloween Sunday with the first chapter to debut on ESPN just prior to the start of the AMP Energy Juice 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Starting Halloween night, the film will be available in its entirety on LegendofHallowdega.com. “The Legend of Hallowdega” is the first short film for both Gilliam and AMP Energy Juice.
Director Terry Gilliam added, “To bring our little circus into the world of a truly monster circus was a thrill.”
The horror comedy, “The Legend of Hallowdega”, explores the mysteries around Talladega Superspeedway as the host of an investigative news show (Kirk) joins forces with a techno-geek paranormal expert (Arquette) to dodge close-calls and chase crazy leads to get to the bottom of “The Legend of Hallowdega”.
