Terrifier 2 gets a theatrical re-release in November

For an indie horror movie that went out into the world unrated, Terrifier 2 was a massive hit last year, earning $15.1 million at the box office on a budget of $250,000. That success led to the first Terrifier getting a 700 screen theatrical re-release (the widest theatrical release Terrifier has ever received) – and now Cineverse and our friends at Bloody Disgusting have announced that Terrifier 2 will be celebrating its one year anniversary by returning to theatres! The nationwide re-release begins on November 8th.

Written and directed by Damien Leone, Terrifier 2 tells the following story: After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to Miles County where he must hunt down and destroy a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.  As the body count rises, the siblings fight to stay alive while uncovering the true nature of Art’s evil intent.

Terrifier star David Howard Thornton reprises the role of the bloodthirsty Art the Clown and is joined in the cast of Terrifier 2 by Lauren LaVera (Iron Fist), Elliott Fullam (Instinct), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Tamara Glynn (Halloween 5), Samantha Scaffidi (American Fango), Griffin Santopietro (Cobra Kai), and Chris Jericho (Killroy Was Here).

This sequel is actually the third feature with Art the Clown in it. Before making Terrifier, Leone introduced the character in short films that were included in the 2013 horror anthology All Hallows’ Eve.

Leone had this to say about the upcoming Terrifier 2 re-release: “This year has been unlike anything we could have imagined. To see all the love Terrifier 2 has received and the excitement this release has inspired from fans new and old, is truly beyond words. As a thank you to them and the many people who worked tirelessly on this release, we want to bring it back to the big screen where it belongs. And more than that, while fans eagerly await the release of Terrifier 3 next year, we will be including some special surprises because a year is just too long to wait.

Cinverse/Bloody Disgusting Managing Director Brad Miska added, “Terrifier 2‘s return to theaters is the perfect farewell to the Halloween season, an event that will have audiences clinging onto their barf bags once again. This exemplifies the pinnacle of horror cinema, an experience that etches itself into memory.
